Heidi uses Healing Touch and other energy-based healing modalities and skills that she learned during the three-year Art of Healing program she completed.  Energy healing includes a variety of therapies based on energetic principles for restoring balance and harmony to the individual. 

Healing Touch is an umbrella term for a number of techniques and includes the works of Dolores Krieger, who developed Therapeutic Touch, and Barbara Brennan, who has written extensively about the human energy field and chakras.  Derived from the ancient laying on of hands, energy healing impacts one’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual (PEMS) states.  Individual clients are assisted in achieving higher states of well-being by working with their subtle body or energy field.  This energy field surrounds and permeates the physical body and is the essence of life.  In a balanced state, the body’s own natural movement toward health is restored.  Heidi channels universal and earth energy through her hands, from several inches to several feet off the body, and at other times directly on the body. 

 

In addition to the layers of the energy field, the subtle body includes the chakras.  Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel.”  Energy flows in and out of the aura through these spinning, funnel-shaped energy centers.  In addition to seven major chakras, there are many minor chakras located throughout the body, such as in the joints.  Minor chakras in the nipples become activated when a woman is pregnant or nursing a baby.  Energy flows to the baby during breastfeeding along with milk.  The goal of a healing session is for the chakras to each be spinning and connected to the other chakras and the energy field.   If they are not, different techniques can be used to correct the imbalance or clear the blockage.

#7 Crown Chakra - located at the crown of the head; color is white or lavender; associated with connection to a higher power and the universe

#6 Brow Chakra - located at the center of the forehead; also known at the third eye; color is violet or purple; associated with intuition and psychic ability

#5 Throat Chakra - located at the throat; color is blue; associated with expression and creativity

#4 Heart Chakra - located at the center of the chest; color is pink or green; associated with unconditional love

#3 Spleen Chakra - located at the solar plexus; color is yellow; associated with personal power

#2 Abdominal Chakra - located at the center of the abdomen; color is orange; associated with emotions and sexuality

#1 Root Chakra - located at the base of the spine; color is red; associated with survival instincts and primal forces

Energy-based healing modalities promote pain relief, acceleration of wound healing, reduction of anxiety and stress, prevention of illness and enhancement of spiritual development, as well as aiding in the preparation for and follow-up of medical and surgical treatments.
