CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle method of detection and correction of the craniosacral system, a vital system that influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid and extends from the bones that make up the cranium (skull, face and mouth) to the sacrum (tailbone area). An imbalance or restriction in the craniosacral system can potentially cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological disabilities, and many other health challenges. Imbalances and restrictions are detected and corrected with the hands, using light touch no greater than the weight of a nickel, and by monitoring the subtle rhythm created by the flow of cerebrospinal fluid through the system. CranioSacral therapy utilizes the body’s natural self-corrective activities.
Sometimes injuries and blows to the body are unable to dissipate and heal normally, and the energy can become compacted into a localized “energy cyst.” Through CranioSacral therapy, the cyst can be released through “unwinding” the tension pattern in that area. During this unwinding, the client may experience a SomatoEmotional Release (SER), which can be felt as shaking, crying or laughing. Heidi has also had clients release through coughing, burping, or sneezing.
CranioSacral therapy does not diagnose or treat. But it can address conditions that have been previously diagnosed by a physician, such as migraines and headaches, chronic neck and back pain, motor-coordination impairments, stress- and tension-related problems, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, chronic fatigue, scoliosis, central nervous system disorders, emotional difficulties, TMJ, learning disabilities, discomforts of pregnancy, recovery from the birth process for mother and baby, infant feeding difficulties and more. CranioSacral therapy can also improve your overall health and resistance to health difficulties .
